Join us on the way to more sustainable future
Supporting sustainable solutions of agricultural production in order to slow and decline the rate of climate change is something we wholeheartedly believe in. ON-FARM aims to establish new and support existing Short Food Supply Chains (SFSC) to secure sustainable ties between farmers, producers, and their customers.
Our main goals are:
- Enabling competitive entrepreneurs in the countryside
- Establishing a balance between economic and ecological parallels in agricultural production
- Respecting old, peasant traditions
- Building trust across borders
- Inspiring the growth and development of ideas and initiatives in the rural areas
- Nourishing long term positive impact on the environment to combat climate change
Currently, there is a lack of digital learning tools for small and medium-sized farmers and producers. ON-FARM focuses on filling that void and bringing farming into the 21st century. These steps contribute to the effort of combating climate change and creating a positive impact on the environment through sustainability, transnational cooperation, and multi-functioning, environmentally friendly agriculture.
What is the Farm to Fork Strategy
The Farm to Fork Strategy is at the heart of the European Green Deal aiming to make food systems fair, healthy and environmentally friendly. The Strategy aims to accelerate our transition to a sustainable food system that should (1) have a neutral or positive environmental impact; (2) help to mitigate climate change and adapt to its impacts; (3) Reverse the loss of biodiversity; and (4) ensure food security, nutrition and public health, making sure that everyone has access to sufficient, safe, nutritious, sustainable food.
